The Lake Ozette Steering Committee will meet on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 10:15 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. at the Sekiu Community Center (42 Rice St., Sekiu, WA) to discuss Lake Ozette Sockeye Salmon recovery and implementation issues. Agenda topics will include reviewing the Implementation Plan for NMFS’ completion; a briefing on next steps for the Adaptive Management Plan; a discussion on the long-term WCSSP role; considering future Steering Committee efforts; and an update on activities since the April 7, 2010 meeting.
The Steering Committee meets on an ad hoc basis. Over the last four years it has helped to develop the Lake Ozette Sockeye Salmon Recovery Plan and is now providing input for the implementation plan. The Committee’s open membership includes landowners, interested citizens, timber companies, as well as representatives from local, state, federal, and tribal governments.
